About Us

A Message from Gina M. Addeo President & CEO

Our clients have inspired us with their vision since my father founded the company in 1977.   As complexities in the electrical, communications and low voltage built environment have changed and evolved, our clients entrust us to power the possible. The foundation of our sustainable corporate culture is a commitment to the work. Simply stated, it has to be great work with a strong finish.

More than 200 Adco team members throughout the organization have been with the company in excess of 25 years. Our standard of performance, our core values are our backbone; integrity, safety, accountability and professionalism.  Our leadership team and skilled IBEW Local#3 workforce sets the bar with with a focus on an outstanding process delivery model and best in class service.

Our clients continue to envision the forefront of the urban landscape with cutting edge advances in electrical and low voltage systems in design and construction across sectors; healthcare and biotech facilities; airports and airlines hubs; new arenas and stadiums;  entertainment and news broadcast headquarters; technology and social media workplace environments; data centers and trading floors, all electric hi-rise commercial towers.  Adco is big enough to make it happen and small enough to make it matter

History

ADCO Electrical Corporation was founded by Richard Addeo with a mission to establish a standard of excellence in the NYC electrical contracting market. As a signatory to IBEW Local #3 Mr. Addeo built a successful company based on his 15 years of experience working as a journeyman and foreman where he had a reputation for managing successful teams in complex , fast track projects. This experience in connecting the client, the journeymen, and the vision informed the foundation of our success. Under his leadership, Adco became a client-centric multi-million dollar corporation shaping the electrical and telecommunications industry in the New York City metropolitan area. Richie Addeo, an icon and well respected labor leader in the industry, was known for his successful vision in tackling technical challenges in the ever changing lighting, regulatory and  low voltage design platforms. His focus on the company capabilities in logistics, planning and production are the core differentiators that define the company’s value to our customers as a commercial partner.

Following the passing of Mr. Addeo in 2005, his daughter, Gina Addeo, who had been on the executive leadership team since 2001, took the reins as President and CEO of ADCO. Concurrently, her sister Lisa began her service as Vice President. Today Gina and Lisa own 51% of ADCO after selling 49% of the company to  an Employee Stock Ownership Plan in 2019. ADCO is certified as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the City of New York,  the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the School Construction Authority.
